Category I version of ACR's RapidFix 406 EPIRB deploys automatically when submerged. This new generation EPIRB (short for Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon) easily integrates with GPS systems, and meets all regulations to be fully approved worldwide. The RapidFix 406 broadcasts the standard 406 MHz signal of newer beacons and also transmits a 121.5 MHz digital coded distress signal, used as a Search And Rescue (SAR) homing frequency.
  • Connects to GPS via GPS interface (NMEA 0183).
  • Features built in strobe and a single, three-position switch for easy test and operation.
  • Transmits simultaneously on 406 MHz (COSPAS-SARSAT) with digitally coded distress signal and 121.5 MHz (SAR homing frequency).

  • The Category I model with hydrostatic release automatically deploys EPIRB if vessel sinks to approximately 13 ft.
